₹150 / 100g

Health Benefits

  • Organic and non-GMO
  • The mildest mustard variety — sweet and tangy rather than sharp
  • No chemicals or pesticides
  • Contains glucosinolates, as all brassicas do

How to Grow

  1. Store in a cool, dry place until ready to use
  2. No pre-soaking required
  3. Sow directly on pre-moistened cocopeat
  4. Harvest at 8–10 days, a little slower than brown or black mustard

Germination tips for microgreens

  • No pre-soaking required — the seed is small and takes up moisture from damp cocopeat directly.
  • Sow dry and at medium density; mustard seed clumps the moment it gets wet.
  • Keep the tray in blackout for 2–3 days so the stems push up rather than sideways.
  • Bottom water once sprouted — misting flattens seedlings this small.
  • Expect 8–10 days rather than the 6–8 of brown and black mustard. It is the slower variety and gives a denser, fuller tray for it.
  • Flavour is mild, sweet and tangy rather than hot, which is why it suits children and anyone put off by sharp mustard.
  • Good in fresh chutneys, raita and on mild dishes where sharp mustard would take over.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do yellow mustard microgreen seeds cost?

₹150 for a 100g pack, which fills roughly seven to nine trays at 15-20g per tray. That works out at about ₹17 to ₹21 of seed per tray. Delivery is charged at checkout by weight and pin code.

Is yellow mustard milder than normal mustard microgreens?

Yes, clearly. Yellow mustard (Sinapis alba) is the mildest of the three mustard varieties — sweet and faintly tangy rather than pungent. Brown mustard, the rai used in Indian tempering, is noticeably sharper, and black mustard sharper still.

How long do yellow mustard microgreens take to grow?

Eight to ten days from sowing to harvest, two days longer than brown or black mustard. The variety grows more slowly and fills the tray more densely in exchange. Judge the tray on day eight rather than day six.

Do yellow mustard seeds need soaking?

No. Sow them dry, straight onto pre-moistened cocopeat. The seed is small enough to take up moisture from the medium on its own, and soaking makes it clump so it spreads unevenly.

Can I buy yellow mustard seed in bulk?

Yes. Wholesale starts at 500g per variety and improves again from 1kg. The seed is the same as this retail pack — there is no separate commercial grade. Tell us your weekly tray count and we will work the quantity back from it.

Do you deliver yellow mustard seeds across India?

Yes. Seed ships from our farm in Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa, Pune to any Indian pin code, typically arriving in 3 to 5 business days. Pune orders usually go same or next day. Delivery is charged at checkout by weight and pin code.
